EASTER SUNDAY YEAR B

We have come to the season of joy and hope following a long past year of pain, distress, and anguish due to the Covid-19 Pandemic and other life challenges.  We have wept at the tomb, struggled to understand what is going on, and carried heavy crosses. Now, along with Jesus, we stand with hope and victory. He has risen, and we too are risen with him in his glory.

Like Peter and the other disciple, we may be rushing to see and to believe. Perhaps hesitant to believe and still hurting from this past year struggles and until now. Despite that, we are the witnesses today of hope and victory from our pain and struggles.

At the same time, the season is filled with joy because “Christ our Paschal Lamb, has been sacrificed” (1 Cor 5:7), and he has taken away the old leaven of sin and death and replaced it with the new Unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. Let us open our spirit to Christ to renew us. Let us sing alleluia with our hearts and lives.

Happy Easter; Joy and peace.
